I have aluminum wheels on my 91 ranger. I have been wondering if people have painted there wheels flat/gloss black. If so please share some pics. It is either this or buy black steel wheels. :icon_welder:
 
Yes I have painted alum wheels before. I took some fine to medium grit sand paper to them first to roughen up the surface so the paint will stick. Then get some high quality paint, this takes time but it's alot cheeper than new wheels. Personally I like the flat color black because wheels are always getting dirty anyway. Then always keep a spare can of paint around for touch ups from stone chips, ect. I wunder if you could get them powder coated that might be better.
