hey guys, its been a while since i've been here last. i still have both my rangers, my 89 and 08. i have a newly acquired 82 f250 in ok shape, i'm just making a cool truck that i can play in the mud with and not care if she gets beat up a bit.

now i have 2 questions. one can anyone tell me where i can get an 8" lift kit for this baby. i can't only find 6" from rough country and sky jacker anf 4' from BDS.
number 2, i want to do a solid axle swap. i know the 350s from my year were solid axles i believe. dose anyone know what they were? dana 60's? and what do i need to do will it just roll right under the leaf springs from the ibeams? or do i need to fab somthing more?

thanks guys Jeremy

nobody have any suggestions on this? i'm a little stunned. oh well dose anyone know any full size ford forums maybe then??

I don't think the 1 tons got a solid (D60) until about '86. I know my dad's '80 F-350 has a TTB D50. It is supposed to be pretty much a bolt in affair when swapping with one tons I believe, yours should be similar. I have never done it though, the TTB has done what it needs to in my dad's otherwise stock truck.

If you are going to do it, I would lift after the SAS so you don't have to buy a bunch of parts you don't need. Then when the time comes, get a kit for the one ton.

They are good trucks, I would love to get one for myself to replace my F-150 as tow pig. My dad's '80 has been thru the mill several times and keeps coming back for more.

Another member on here (metalmacguyver) bought a 93 F-250 and was able to bolt in a D60. The thread is on here somewhere, but I wasn't able to find it... You could try searching..
