If Ford stopped producing the Ranger and there was no aftermarket support for them anymore and you wanted to pick a different truck to build, which one would it be?

No but that is kind of a hard decision. Maybe an old Dakota that came with a stock V8. Or a *gasp* old Toyota Mini Truck with solid axles front and rear.
 
early 80s toyota pickup/ 4runner. solid axle only.
(if i ever find the cash for an atlas i mite change to a passenger drop and run a front toy solid axle in the b2..)

For the street '56 f-100 for fun late '70s f-150s for a DD 2000ish V8 F250 superduty but i'd still take any of these now!
 
I like the Dakota platform. Not quite a full size, but still a sturdy underpinning. All set up with a V8, if you want it. And it's a fine looking truck (the late-90's to early 00's) in my opinion.

definitely a mid-50's F100.
 
fullsize dodge... first truck.. always have a fondness towards them
 
For wheeling, a Toyota Mini Truck; for DD, Possibly a newer Tacoma.
 
CJ-8 Scrambler. or stretch a sami
 
I'd find a nice 80-86 F150 for a DD, or a 250 for a DD/tow rig.

I guess if I was gonna build something else, I'd probably build either a buggy or a CJ. Maybe an old wagoneer too.
 
i'd have to go back to horse and buggy. as i hate the looks of the dodge dakotas,chevys and taco's..
 
Why does it matter? I only buy 15-20 year old (or more) vehicles anyway. If Ford stopped producing today, ask me again in 2024.

The "no aftermarket" stuff would take decades to kick in. You can still get aftermarket parts for Studebakers (and yes, there were Studebaker light trucks). And if there WERE a problem, that's what junkyards and resto shops are for. I can still get factory GM parts for my 1972 C-10. Gotta pay for it if it's not actually from the dealer, but it exists (e.g., I could get a factory tach, but it would cost me $500).

i would keep my truck...none of this new shit with tpms and stable conroll any more
