Ok, so It ended up that i need to replace my dying engine...boo hoo, but since im going at it with tools, I figured why not take out a loan and build a rig i can take off in for a week or so and not need to worry about having to come out for anything. Im buying a new H.O from ford this week, and the trany is getting an overhaul to make it more dependable, Im also getting a whinch. I would like some info from others about what else i should look into to make this build a sucess

make room for lots of fuel in whatever way suits your needs best. create some sort of configuration for a cooling system for food wether it be a hard wired fridge, electric cooler or one huge cooler. get an alternator and battery(s) that can power all you add-ons then some. hitchs at both ends are a must, so you can winch front or back. room for tools to repair everything short of an engine swap or a tranny rebuild. replacment parts such as hubs, driveshafts, u-joints, axles, tire(s), plugs, wires, distributor cap, every fluid you rig could ever need etc. sleeping and clothing needs. jump pack. now obliviously i realize you need a u-haul to store everything you could ever need so prioritizing is the key.

Pull a small camper with it.

I once saw an F-100 with wood bins built into the bed and carpeted over... You could build some compartments on each side for storage then leave room to sleep in the middle. Then you don't need the camper. Oh, and a shell over the bed of course...

well, i was thinking of a second fuel tank for sure. Thats a good idea for the front and rear hitch, didnt think of that. Already working on a second alternator and a small bank of batteries. Im turning the space behind the seats in the cab into storage, i dont plan on taking more then one person in the truck. As far as " living arangments" I was thinking about a tent rather then trying to make room for sleeping and what not in the bed. I already have a cap for it.
