I'm presently buying all my parts needed to make my Ranger a capable prerunner.
I've gone true the technical library to learned a little bit about the possibilities involved in that kind of project
I want to know what stock ECM ( and from what car or truck) would give me the best performance for a 5.0L EFI with a manual transmission
Also the engine I bought ( 50$ for a 1992 long block
) is probably in need of a rebuilt ... if the piston are in need for a replacement what kind of compression ratio I can run with pump fuel ( 91 or 94 octane in canada) I'm really looking for a good 10.5/1 or maybe higher
Are all engine wiring harness the same ??? I'm probably going to simplify it by keeping the minimum -> IAC, ECT, Ingnition, MAF( propably), injector ect. ect. but deleting A/C and all that junk
Sorry for my english ... I'm from a french speeking province/state so I don't get to practice often
