I'm presently buying all my parts needed to make my Ranger a capable prerunner.

I've gone true the technical library to learned a little bit about the possibilities involved in that kind of project

I want to know what stock ECM ( and from what car or truck) would give me the best performance for a 5.0L EFI with a manual transmission

Also the engine I bought ( 50$ for a 1992 long block :D ) is probably in need of a rebuilt ... if the piston are in need for a replacement what kind of compression ratio I can run with pump fuel ( 91 or 94 octane in canada) I'm really looking for a good 10.5/1 or maybe higher

Are all engine wiring harness the same ??? I'm probably going to simplify it by keeping the minimum -> IAC, ECT, Ingnition, MAF( propably), injector ect. ect. but deleting A/C and all that junk :annoyed:

Sorry for my english ... I'm from a french speeking province/state so I don't get to practice often :icon_twisted:

thanks for your help

does anyone have any clue ???

If i were you I would look to get a Mustang computer and harness. As far as the comp. ratio you should be able to run 10.5 easy enough, assuming your octane rating up there is the same as the states. Good luck with your project.
