ok well over the few years ive messed with rbv's ive come up with a 86 ext cab 4x4 ranger 2.9 a4ld tranny good shape and a 87 bronco II 4x4 eddie bauer edition 2.9 5 speed and a 85 ford ranger 4x4 single cab long bed 2.8 speed and im going to make on out of all three and im not sure which one would be better cause i like trail rideing anyways give me some imput. thanks kyle.

i would go with the b2 for fuel inj. and a 5 speed. the a4ld is a piece of crap.

:agree: What he said. Unless you are needing to haul more gear then the Ranger would rule.

"the a4ld is a piece of crap". The manufacturer's code for this auto trans is "T". It's a little known fact that this stands for TRASH.

b2. sounds like you are going to have enough spare parts to wheel it hard for years to come without spending much if any money. i recommend creating a list of parts that typically break to salvage off the 2 you scrap out. ex. D28 axles, hubs, atleast one rearend(preffer the one with matching gears if possible), all of the light housings!, bumpers, rims, tires if they are usable etc...

Get which ever one that doesn't have a cracked head :).

haha agreed!

The axles are a bolt on swap between the two Rangers, Ranger axle beams are not the same as a BII, the rear axles are different too. You may not have as many parts as you think you do to trade back and forth.

The BII will also be less stable on hillclimbs as well as more eager to tip over than the Rangers, which are longer between the wheels and after the rear wheels and don't have as much of a top so they have a lower CG. They both have their ups and downs depending on what you are doing.
