How can I start truck w/ bad fuel pump??

I found a '93 Ford Ranger 2.3L 4cyl online. The guy who is selling it said it needs a new fuel pump. I want to hear the truck run before I buy it to reveal any potential problems. The only problem is that it is fuel injected so I can't squirt gas into carb. to see if it fires. How can I see if it runs w/o replacing fuel pump? Any suggestions?

fuel or starter fluid in the tb just like a carb

a guy i used to wrok with an i once drove a ranger 2 blocks with me riding on the core support, feeding the intake with starting fluid and him driving.

Make yourself something like this.

I made one out of some schedule 40 3" pvc. It will work enough when filled with fuel and will start the engine.
