I've got a 89 ranger with a 2.3 and a 5 speed.It has over 300,000 mi. on it,I've owned it 9 years.It starts just fine,the idle isn't rough.I can drive it down the road and be running ok, then it'll cut out with a loss of power then be back to normal.Other times it'll stall while I'm driving and I'll have to restart it while driving down the road.Sometimes when it loses power or stalls it'll backfire , other times it won't. Once after a backfire , it actually started a fire on the side of the road.
