Ok I will try to explain this as easy as possible.. I just bought a 92' ford ranger 2 months ago. The guy just bought a clutch kit for it like 2,000 miles before i bought it. one week after I bought it, I am driving on highway in 5th gear, for about 10 minutes, then a lout whining noise I could notice was getting worse. I pull over and clutch goes to the floor and I had to jam it out of gear.. Clutch was not engaging. 10 minutes later clutch worked great! Ok well skipping a long story, I topped the tranny off with Delco Tranny fluid and when I push the clutch in the whining noise stops.. when I let it go, its lous as can be. 1st 2nd 3rd and 5th gears whine badly.. 4th gear its quiet. Just today, I knew something was wrong, I drove it anyway. 5 miles later, the whining noise is very very bad, and next thing you know I cant get any gears to work. Had to tow truck home.. People are saying Throw Out Bearing.. Could that be? It was just replaced? Is it possible to put the throw out bearing on backwards? or where should I start? I am not knowledgeable in transmission problems, but have a friend that HALFWAY is. But any help would be great! thanks!

Any noises that change when the clutch is pushed in and that is evident in all gears but 4th, is a sign of failing bearings. When you put the fluid in the transmission, was there any in there? Your truck should have a Mazda transmission, and those usually fail do to lack of lubrication.
