i have a 99 Ranger 4x4 and i recentlly did the hub mod where the hubs are locked in full time.2 weeks into this i've noticed a sound from my front end but i can't seem to put to my finger on it.It does seem proportional to speed but thought maybe these componets haven't been used full time like this that maybe my cv joints are making this noise.Anybody done this mod and have the same issue.:dunno:

When I lock my hubs (did mod similar to yours, but are selectable instead of locked all the time) I get more noise from the front, I just associate it to the axle/CV joints rotating.

I just thought maybe since it has 90K on it and now i'm turning everything all the time the cv joints might be causing it.Just not for sure it it's ok to keep driving that way.

The only thing I would think to happen would be more wear on the seals, leading to premature failure/leaking from the axle. The CV joints themselves will last quite a while, assuming the boots aren't torn.
