Lookin to get another truck

Well the other day a buddy of mine told me his dad wants to get rid of the ranger. He told me that he wants $400 for it, its an 87 regular cab long bed 4wd. It has some rust issues, but just surface rust. The motor was rebuilt 10,000 miles ago. The tranny has a new clutch and the transfer case is brand new with 0 miles. Now, the issue is this: the core support is rusted out, and he has a new one, just needs the mounts which i have. It needs gone over and put back together. I have a ton of extra parts from my other rig that can be used on it. I'm going to go pick it up this week and hopefully have another rig to mess with. Does it sound worth it?

Sounds like it's worth it for the drivetrain alone!
I'd say go for it.

even if it had a bad motor i would buy it for parts and scrap the rest. its worth around 300 in scrap. sounds like a good deal!

Well i went and picked up the beast tonight.....however im pretty sure it has a fuel problem. It started up then died and when you would spray starting fluid in the throttle body it would start. I'm going to work on that tomorrow. Anyways i got it and its another project that should be fun. Will be posting pics tomorrow

well today i got it unloaded and started on the motor. I figured i'd check the fusebox and make sure nothing was blown out. Sure enough there were two blown fuses and a bunch of fusses where they shouldn't be. After i did all that it heard the fuel pump click(had the key on) so i turned it over and it fired right up. It ran really smooth except for the fact a vaccuum line was disconnected. Anyways thats one less thing to fix, tomorrow i'm going to start on the core support. BTW, my brother took my camera so i gotta wait till he gives it back so i can take some pics of this pile.
