what rear end do you use to put a straight axle under the front of my bronco II. the pumpkin on the drivers side has me stumped on choices of rear ends. thanks

well first off you dont use the rear axle, second try the search function, it is your friend, and third try a front axle from a wrangler of some sort would be the closes wideth and still same bolt pattern

I dont care if the pattern is the same or not! It will never see the road, therefore width doesnt matter either. I would also like to have leafs, I think it will work soooo much easier. thanks for your reply

if thats the cause look at almost any ford, dodge, jeep with leaves, and it should be a driver side drop and go from there, lots of guys here have done leaves, look in the extreme 4x4 section

I have several 4x4 dodges and they are all passneger side input. and if memeory serves me right older fords with leafs were on the passenger side also. The 81 CJ7 i have also have passenger input:sad:

A Dana44 from an early bronco will be a drivers side drop. It's probably the easiest swap out there if you are gonna stick to the radius arms and coil spring.

i wouldnt mind staying with the set up i have. but i have 302 in my bronco and am tearing hubs and u joints left and right. Is there some place on the web to find the axles i need? thanks

Could swap in a D35 from an Explorer... Not a straight axle but with a locking hub swap it's just as strong, and bolts in.

If you want wider, then go with the D44 and 8.8" or 9" from a F-150. Keeping the radius arm/coil suspension will be easier than switching to leafs.

All Fords are driverside diff.

Dodge '94 & up is driverside.
