Happy new year all!
I have a rough idle in my '94 2.3L. I did a compression check on it and the #3 cylinder measures about 120 psi, while the other ones are at about 175psi. So that pretty much answers that mystery. The Haynes manual states that low compression on one cylinder while expieriencing a rough idle is probably caused by a worn exhaust lobe on the cam. That makes some sense, but, has anyone had this idle problem that was caused by this? I don't mind replacing the cam, but it's cold here in Michigan and replacing the head is more costly and involved and I would rather not have to do it.
Any comments, input etc....
TIA
Bob
