i have a 1990 ranger 2wd 2.3L 4 cylinder 5 speed, no i blew my last tranny so i pulled my motor and i replaced gaskets and even painted it, now i replaced slave cylinder, clutch, and flywheel, however i noticed i could slightly wobble the input shaft, could this be the reason the tranny makes a wining noise, the guy i bought it from told me it makes a wining noise in most of the gears. how long will the tranny probably last?

Input shafts normally have a LITTLE side to side play. By itself, this does not cause whining even if excessive. Whining comes from non-smooth moving parts. If it whines only while powered OR coasting in gear, it's probably on a gear surface. If it does it all the time, it's probably a bearing. If it's the same in all gears (including 4th), it's probably not the transmission at all.
