did NOAA change its band? I use my scanner to keep an eye on the weather when clouds appear on the horizon. But for the last couple of weeks I haven't been able to pick up anything on the weather band.

Weird. I manually punch in the channel and it works. I scan for it, it won't find it. One of the kids probably adjusted some mysterious setting. I've had this scanner since '91 and I only know about 30% of what it does.

Thanks for the link.

no problem man....I've got lots of links like that handy....help's being a ham :D

Just a thought, maybe it was changed so it doesn't scan for, or ignores, the NOAA frequency...just thinking out loud...

It's always there when I go looking for it....

But I don't use a scanner, I use a communications radio
(an amature dual band (2m/70cm) transciever).

I have more memory channels than I'll ever use, so I just programmed
the NOAA channels into my radio on the UHF side (partly so I won't
inadvertantly transmit on those frequencies)

Sounds like they are programmed as "lockout" channels on your scannerwhich do you normally listen to in your area,162.400? 162.550? or one of the five channels in between?
