4wd not engaging

This morning when I left the house the truck switched into 4wd without any problems. I disengaged the 4wd when I got to the highway then when I arrived at work I tried engaging 4wd again. No such luck...the light would not come on and I did not hear the normal clicking noise. Could this be a fuse or am I looking at something a lot more expensive. Thanks for any help you may be able to provide. Ranger 2006, FXII, Auto 4.0L

There's a bracket where it guides the 4 wheel drive stick. Open it and see if the bracket is not adjusted.

check out the four wheel drive module and the shifter motor on the back of the transfer case. it sounds like its the module though. check this out:http://www.therangerstation.com/forums/showthread.php?t=33872&highlight=wheel+drive+module I know this was a 4wd low problem but its the same module for low and high
