Ranger axle alignment

I'm planning on raising the front end on my stock 97 Ranger 2wd. so the truck sits level. Does that usually require installing aftermarket offset ball joint bushings to get the alignment right? Are the stock bushing even adjustable? Thanks!

Yes, it requires a substantial front end alignment with offset camber bushings. No, the stock ones are not adjustible.

But the truck will drag its butt if you ever use it as a truck -- or put weight in the truck in winter to manage the traction (as many folks do). And if you raise the front end with the common "levelling kits" that use bone-jarring stiff springs, you're going to need bridgework to replace the teeth you knock out....

I really don't recommend that people do this sort of thing.

The stock bushings can be rotated within the beam, which may offer some amount of adjustment, but if you need a bushing with a different degree of offset (more likely than not), then they will need to be replaced with different ones.

Coil spacers (or washers) under the lower coil seats (with stock springs) will have the least impact on ride stiffness.
