i recently bought a truck and by recently i mean today. The only problems it has are that the abs light is on. Ive had previous experience on other trucks Gm and its the abs sensor whats the part #number of the abs sensors for the ranger 96 2wd 3.0

I wouldn't automatically assume that the sensors are bad.

If the previous owner ran the pads too low and made any metal filings
SOME would by nature stick to the sensor (it's magnetic) and if the gap
is bridged by filings you'll get a warning lamp.

OR the sensor in the rear axle can also be fouled by metal chips.

So before you go and diagnose by knee-jerk and replace a pair of $90 sensors...

You can test the sensors with an ohmmeter. Offhand, I don't know what the resistance is for the sensors.

You can order them on the net for $36.00 ea, if needed.

where is the sensor located?

the sensor is located in the center of the rear axle on the top. it is the only thing with wires going to it on the axle.
