hi i just got a 86 bronco 2 it has the auto trans and elc shift 4 wheel drive it is stuck in 4wheel lo eney help would be great thank you . treeman

shifter motor on the transfer case is probably shot or will be soon. try unbolting the motor from the transfer case (cylinder looking thing on the back of the case) and manually moving the gears inside, it will tell you on the transfer case which way to turn the shifter mechanism. check your 4wd control module too. i have the manual t case. maybe someone with the electric will chime in here. welcome to trs!

assuming that you have not read the owners manual you need to have the vehicle in neutral with the brake depressed and then hit the button to get outta 4wdL

thanks for the help

i got it fixed i puled the shift moter and cleaned it i also pulled the plastic cap off and cleaned the disk and fellers and it works like new thanks for the help . treeman

did you check the rubber bumper on the gear as well? They tend to break and will also cause shifting problems.
