Perches can be purchased online from a place like Summit. The 7.5 in your 86 has 2.75" tubes.

if you want weld-on perches, you can re-use the factory ones. cut them off the top of the axle and weld them onto the bottom.
an easier option is an axle flip kit, no messing with pinion angles:

No. Just get the flip brackets from DJM. Unless you are a skilled fabricator/welder, I would not suggest you attempt to relocate the perches.
Besides, the flip brackets are cheap and easy.

Its called a "flip kit". Quick search for lowering kits on Summit Racing oughta bring them up in a heartbeat.

As mentioned several times so far - you do not
need perches or need to relocate them. This is lowering not lifting. I have had mine flipped for over 2 years now and I used a simple "axle flip kit" from DJM. It is easy to do and the parts are cheap. The kit includes a U shaped bracket that acts as the new perch on the lower side and aligns with the original perch. PLEASE do a bit of research for a flip kit, you can find them on e-bay also. Save yourself some time, money and headache . . .Here is one from Stillen that includes new u bolts and plates but they are not required. The U shaped brackets are all you really need to do an axle flip . . . Good Luck

So, you DO have to have perches to do it safely--even if u buy a flip kit & use the originalperches to locate the axle properly
