View Full Version : 94 Ranger FT, Axle Swap

I want to put a stright axle in my ranger,a buddy of a buddy has a axle from a cherrikee around a 86`.what more work would i have to do besides spring brackets on frame an re-welding spring plates ? and will the ranger u- joint bolt up to the jeep yoke?

it must be a wagoneer or YJ axle if it's leaf sprung.

on your swap, if your planing to run coils, it takes alot of fabin and time:
If you want it to look and drive good.frame notchin' long arms track bar
steeering box change, some home made brackets ect.
If you got the cheeze, go with coil overs, buy the long arms
it will give you a good start and save some headaches.
and how big are you planning to go?

If you don't know what you are talking about don't make comments.

In a 94 it takes NO extra work to run coils....you don't need to notch your frame, and you don't need to change your steering box.

Just look at the Jeep suspension, they are really simple to build the Y links for it.
