What is everyone's opinion of the current status of Ford? Is anybody currently looking to purchase or has recently purchased a new Ford? Is there anybody out there this has been scared off from purchasing a new Ford because of Ford's finiacial situation? This whole finicial situation is very intreging to me and I would like to see how folks in Ranger land feel.

Ford is in a much better position than the others. They've been dealing with their problems since 2004. They have asked for a line of credit just in case things get much worse. Chrysler and GM are on the very edge of failure and will have to file bankruptcy if they do not get government loans.

Due to the sheer size of the industry the country cannot afford to lose them. If it wasn't for them we couldn't have won WWII. The government is looking at economic disaster if they close. I'm looking at a massive loss of manufacturing capability in this country that is much more devastating to national security than the loss of our steel making capability.

I'm in favor of loans, not givaway taxpayer money.

Just my opinion.
