intake ..?

For anyone who has a homemade intake setup... How did you mount the pipeing? right now my cones just kinda sitting on my airbox. I don't like the thought of it bouncing around all the time. I had something in the works but it didn't really work like i planned....

so the question is how'd you mount your and got any pics?

go get a larger maf sensor from a f-150 or e150. It'll go great with a free flowing intake. Even if you upgrade your intake your still going to have the restriction of the small diameter maf sensor. The bolt pattern to the airbox(if your still gona use the stock one) is exactly the same, as is the bolt pattern for the sensor itself. I dont remember it if was from a 4.2 v6 or 4.6 v8 but just look for one with 4 wires coming out of its air box (more so a cylinder on the 150-350 trucks/vans). Its pretty much a direct drop in for a stock intake but you could definatley adapt it to your custom intake.

A larger MAF sensor only screws stuff up! Besides that, OEM intake and airbox isn't what limits the amount of airflow, it's the heads and upper/lower intake manifolds. So, all putting a larger diameter intake will do is lower the air velocity, screwing up the calibration of the MAF sensor, no more air will flow!!!

The biggest restriction in the intake is the throttle body. It's a big plate that blocks off the ENTIRE intake (at idle). To get more airflow, you step on the gas pedal, which opens the throttle plate, and BOOM, instantly more airflow. No aftermarket filters or intake tubes required. Unless you're already at wide open throttle, there is NO reason to complain about not having enough airflow.

I wasn't complaining about anything, I'm not goin to change the maf i just like the way my setup sounds. so back to the original question please

I'm not here to argue about power gains i just don't want mine flopping around too much.
