I was just digging around on my computer and I found some pictures that I took this summer from my job in northern Alberta. This is the rig that I ran almost all summer, 15 hr days. Damn nodwell was a blast to operate.

That landscape reminds me of Alaska.... they're not too far apart.

What was your job?

Alaska is a very long ways, but yes the landscape is very similar.

I was mostly doing powerline and substation maintenance. Our crews job was to apply herbicide under the powerlines to prevent trees from growing and coming in contact with the line. As boring as it sounds, it was actually alot of fun. Not terribly hard work, nice scenery, great pay, ect.

Alaska's not that far away... and once you get up north the scenery doesn't vary all that much which is why I made the generalization.

Sounds like a pretty good way to spend the summer.

Man those Nods remind me of fighting fires up here in Alaska when I was a young buck. Lots of them around up here as you can imagine, Nice pics man.:icon_thumby:
