so i pulled my instrument cluster, put in new bulbs, then got creative. I pulled the plastic cover, needles and the gauge faces and scraped the paint off the backside of the gauges ( i bought red replacement lights :headbang:). Got 'er all together last night at 11:00 and went for a rip. Well. i guess my 2.3L is better than i thought as in 2nd gear i was "supposedly" going 100 km/h!
Does anyone know how to reset the needles? My gas gauge works, and the battery one too, but the tach and speedo are off and the oil pressure and coolant temp do not respond. Any insight is great! :icon_cheers:

I think you may have a much easier time getting another instrument cluster from the junkyard.

for the tach, set it while motor is at idle,est1100rpm stick it back on. Speedo, I had mine off before and I took the pin out to bring it below 20kmh and judged where 0 was and then checked it with a gps. Pressure gauges, if you know everything was before you should be able to get the engine to running temp and put then in the middle.

i was pondering the the whole checking the speed with another machine..i think i'll just hook my ranger up to my dealership's IDS computer..it'll at least let me see my speed and RPM properly. If i have to, I'll just hook up some aftermarket gauges!

idk what that guys talking about. i did the same thing its a pain in the ball take it apart and set it when the motors running
