I was looking at projects to improve/ rework my '94 B4000 (4.0L, 4X4, Manual 5-speed, w/A/C) now that the engine is running great and the suspension is squared away. One of the main remaining issues is the interior. Along in that, I have seen a lot of pictures of newer Rangers/ B-series with an obvious change in the climate control consel. My manual control lever has become "gummed-up" and difficult to adjust, and I was wondering if it would be possible to exchange the whole assembly for one of the newer style? If so what would it take and which years could I use? I know it seems like a small point, but I plan on redoing the interior when I get back from overseas anyway including rebuilt front seats, new carpet, and better rear seating than the current jump seats.
Any help is greatly appreciated. There is a yard specializing in Mazda three hours north of here that I know has several B-series p/u's. I also know where there are a few scrap Rangers and Explorers, too. So, finding whatever you post should not be excessively difficult. Thanks
