i want to start getting the parts ready to do a 302 swap because the 2.8 has seen better days and its just about shot but i was wanting to know if i could use a 302 out of a 1980 thunderbird since its rear wheel drive and then use a m50rd-2 from a 90's f150?

My 302 is out of an '80 t-bird. It should have the correct 2 sump oil pan. As for the transmission, I don't know. I don't see why not. I'm using a C-5 tranny out of the Ranger that has been moded to fit the 302 (it's now, sorta, a C-4, don't ask).

the way it looks a automatic transmission would seem to be easier but ive never liked them what do you think would be the best transmission for it? my bronco already has the clutch pedal so thats another reason why i want a manual

My Explorer has a third useless pedal also. The C-4 is the way to go. Small size and easily built. The C-6 works but is a lot larger.
