fuel guage

My fuel guage itsnt showing any fuel and i know there is fuel in my tank also my truck isnt getting any gas to the engine i dont think power is getting to my fuel pump but the relay switch gets power

Seems that the gage and the lack of fuel to the engine may be 2 separate faults. First, look to see if the connector is connected on top of the fuel tank. (This will cause both problems.)
Do you have a wiring diagram for your '88? - Check fuses in the power distribution box. - Check the inertia switch. If that doesn't provide power to the pump, R&R the fuel pump relay. Last resort, drop the tank and R&R the pump.

yea i checked the relay swicth and its getting power to it but i dont believe its sending power out

Believe or know? Are you diagnosing it with a test light or a multimeter? Or, are you just turning the key on, and listening to the relay?
