Hello people. I'm new to the B series trucks and I need some basic help. I picked up a 1995 b3000 2wd 5 spd manual with a siezed tranny. I'm not the hunt for another transmission, but I dont know what other cars I can get my transmission from, and what year's have the same transmission. Thanks

ok, I took a closer look at the car. Its parked in my work's yard and I didnt get a good look at it the first time. Its a 93 b3000 witha SOHC v6. The clutch slave cyl is inside the bellhousing, and the bellhousing is also part of the gearbox casing. Its not detatchable like most trannies.

Ive looked around for the tranny with little luck. This one junkyard near my house wants $400!!!! Another place CLAIMED to be selling a rebuilt tranny for $450, but that sounds too good to be true. I think they might just put new seals on it and wash it. lol. Help the noob!!!

Since you can actually look at what under there, you should be able to ID the tranny from the info here:

http://www.therangerstation.com/tech_library/ManualTransmission.html

Then you should be able to find out what other vehicles in came in.

"1991-current Rangers with the 3.0 engine:
The Mazda M5OD-R1 is the only manual transmission used in Rangers with this engine"

Well it would appear to the Mazda

Not too bad of a deal... At the very least you could make some $$ off parts. Good luck with the search.

I was searching around, and I found a guy talking about the Mazda M5OD-R1 transmission, but his was 4wd. Mine is just RWD. That one tech page didnt specify rwd or 4wd, or does it make a difference?

2wd and 4wd trannies do not interchange. A '93 b3000 is not SOHC. If there is an Sohc under the hood then a trans for a '93 b3000 will not fit.

I double checked again. Inside the door it say's its a 93, but its actually a 1994 model, but it was sold in 1993. Can I get a rwd tranny off any other cars or models?
