How different is it driving without an AC? Does that mean no cool air at all? Does it also effect my heat at all?

The reason I ask is because it's winter time and I haven't used it at all, not to mention during the summer I almost always just put my windows down and I'm fine. I have a very annoying belt squeak, and besides a couple other things, my AC pulley is one the accused culprits.

You don't use the defroster in winter?

You DO use the air conditioner. You just don't realize it. It removes water from the interior so that it doesn't freeze on the windshield.

As for performance, if you want to try it out, disconnect and secure the compressor electrical connector and see if you can tell the difference.

It will SUCK DONKEYS in summer without it.

like MAGK said, your a/c system actually runs whenever you have a defrost mode selected. the a/c acts as a dehumidifier to dry the incoming air and make your defrosters more effective.

you might notice a slight increase in part-throttle acceleration, but the a/c is turned off under full-throttle acceleration, so there will be no change in that department.
