idle and low rpm problem

when i first start my truck the idle drops to the point it almost shuts off. when im driving at low rpm the rpm will drop every few seconds. now once the motor is warm this problem goes away. but it will do this for 5 to 10 minutes every morning.

i would check the codes, even if the "CEL" isnt on, it can still have trouble codes.

Well, I don't have a problem while driving, but I did not like the low idle. I adjusted the idle screw about a quarter turn clockwise(in) and it seems to work well. It also helps with shifting gears.

okay i checked the computer and it has no codes, so whatelse could it be, im thinking injectors or intake mainfold needs cleaned, someone told me maybe pressure regulator

My truck had the exact same symptoms when the idle air control valve started sticking. It didn't trigger a CEL at first, but it eventually came on and stayed on. I replaced the valve and haven't had any trouble since.
