i have read some of the threads about the issues with the motors and gears but i think i have a different prob....

passenger window has been a little flakely other the last few months(only owned the truck for 3 months)problem is passenger window goes down but have troubles going up and now it just doesn't go up at all.I have swapped out switches with and another and motors too.when i took out the original motor and tried it it spins when i push the down but when i push up nothing happens...same with the other used motor as well(the other couild be crap as well i dunno)......could the gears inside be screwing up but only in the down position???

i'm stumped anyone have suggestions?
thanks

motor gear box has plastic rollers that crumble to pieces, rebuild kits are on EBAY. easy to fix.

well....i went back out there to try thr switch again and to watch the dome light to see if it dims when the button is pressed and it doesn't which means no power....then the drivers switch for the locks didn't work either....i then traced it back to the harness/plate that the switches plugs into on the door panels.when i move or wiggle the wires on the back of the plate and while holding the button depressed then i get power to the locks and the passenger side window....so the passenger side switch must get its power from the drivers side switch which is why i was getting no power...

i didn't come across this thread when i searched but it may have been covered already...

thanks for the help who replied:icon_cheers:

i had a problem like that on one of my trucks it was the master switch on the drivers side did you check both switches

^^^^it's all fixed now, like i said it was just the wires on the drivers side going into the harness/plate(not sure what to call it but the part that plugs into the switch)and it's good for now till i go back to the jy and snip off some in better shape then splice those ones in..:icon_thumby:
