I'm having a problem with the headlights on my 94 Ranger.

My low beams flicker on and off--from low beams to running/dashboard lights. My high beams work when I manually turn them on by pulling the turn signal switch. I've replaced the harness that attaches the wires to the switch and notices some burn marks on one of the terminals.

Can I make a quick fix by picking up another switch at the wrecker? For what this truck is worth (300,000 km), I don't want to do anything that will be a hassle (ie mess around with the wiring).

sounds like it might be the multi-function switch. If you don't know what that is that's the turn signal/high-beam/wiper lever. Ford is notorious for problems with that thing. Sounds like that could be the problem. Yeah, you should be able to pick one up at the junk yard for realetively cheap. If not, the local stelership should have em there. Hope this helps ya some.

Agreed; multifunction switch would be the prime suspect.
