ok so... we are working on building a 88 extended cab ranger 4X4 into a 3.8L SC truck. we have put an d35 in the front and a 8.8 in the rear, custom drive shafts are in order obviously...
we want to run the AOD that came behind it from the factory, but we're having issues figuring out what to do for a transfer case. i know we can go get a trans/t-case set up out of a f-150, but i was curious if there is a good way to make a ranger/b2/explorer t-case go on a AOD so we can retain the stock front drive shaft offset?

I don't think the Ranger T-case will stand up to a super Charged 3.8L. and with the AOD you would have to change the drive shafts anyways.

Np 205 fits licely, so does a model 20 from an Early Bronco.

well we got a 2wd aod, so changing the tail housing and output shaft is def going to get done. i will probably be going throught the trans anyway...

i cant remember, is the 205 a divorced t-case? and what about the offset? will it be ok, i dont want the u-joint angles to be too funky. we're hard on joints as it is...
we're trying to do this on the cheaper side of things too

btw im t-case stupid still....

the 205 is a married unit, fits nicely. the model 20 fits nicely too, as long as it has a driver's side drop. you will also want too swap the D28 in the front for an explorer D35 and an explorer 8.8 in the back. your stock axles will be a little weak to handle that engine for very long.

yes we have already put the ttb dana 35 and 8.8 in it.
what i am curious about now is if we can bolt that t-case onto the a 4x4 AOD

do a search for adapters.

I can't find the adapter.
