they appear to have the same shape and configuration, but im only judging from the picture, I would like to know if they would fit, with little or no modifications.

Gee, I was thinking of putting '08s on my '99 - wish I knew what would fit!!!
 
Not even close....unless you want to swap the entire front clip.
