ford sierra 2.9???

bored..watching youtube...and a ford sierra with a 2.9 twin turbo :icon_confused:

.. is that our 2.9??? if so what is the diff from the sierra 2,9 and ours?...any stats?

edit: did some digging and here is what i found....more updated then i remeber
the ford german motor!

The 2.9 was used alot in cars overseas. A few ford passenger cars in the U.S got the 2.9. I believe they had a different profile camshaft as well as intake. I think the heads and bottom end were the same though. I bet it would be sick to get a sierra upper and lower intake port matched and the cam strapped in a ranger 2.9.

the 2.9 was used in merkur scorpios (pretty much the same as a sierra i think) and were rated at 144 hp rather than the 140 that the us truck engine has. theres also a dohc variant made by cosworth that makes nearly 200 hp.

on a side note, i have an intake and computer from a merkur scorpio

i bought them with the intent to put them on my ranger, but i have a 4.0 that will be swapped in instead

now the d.o.h.c vertion....how was the that set up...i read with some motor work it was made that way....how about the casting...was that diffrent...since the cam is inside the motor
