ok so i had a time getting my 5spd off the 4.0 i have read on here you can get it out without removing the t-case or y-pipe and back in all the same. to those who have done this feat i applaud you. i stopped half way through with my tranny balancing to remove the t-case and y-pipe because it was more trouble than it was worth. now to the problem i separated every bolt when i removed everything did a tag and bag but my bro decided to move everything. i have the eight bolts that mount the trans to the engine but now i cant tell where the short and long ones go..... i know the top four(accessed from the engine bay) are short so im left with 3 long and 1 short but the bottom four seem to all need long bolts do i have the wrong bolts or am i just confused about where they go?:annoyed::annoyed::annoyed::annoyed::annoyed:

One way to tell is to measure the thickness of the part of the bell housing where each bolt passes through. Use the shortest bolt for the least thickness and work your way up. The important thing is to catch enough threads in the block with each bolt to provide maximum holding strength.
