My '87 ford ranger with the 2.0L has that duct piece missing that connects the air cleaner to the thru the front clip pipe.

What do I use to make a new duct? I was thinking maybe a clothes dryer hose, but any better Ideals?

Since both connections require a odd shape, the flexible hose would need to shape well to the irregular holes. I'll probably clamp it on with some nylon ties.

Clothes dryer duct is aluminum foil and wouldnt take well to constant engine motion/vibration.

Perhaps some light duty stove pipe with some rubber connectors?

Look around the junk yard, got to be one somewhere. you might see something else that might work off a different vehicle. also look around on the ground at ranger row, a lot of times that stuff just gets tossed around, under the junkers.

or try your local autoparts store, most carry the intake tubing you are talking of, i know my store has it from 1.5" all the way up to 3.5" about ten bucks usually

+1. Be sure to look in unlikely places as people like to hide things they want so they can get them when they have money. I scored a perfect condition hood today for $80 that was hidden under a big blanket under a Full size bronco. Hood looks brand new. Good Luck:icon_thumby:

HA HA junkyard savvy, you find the damnedest things people try to hide for later.
