Manual transfer case and auto hubs

will this work? i want and found a manual transfer case but i wanna know if i buy it do i have to buy the manual hub and conversion kit as well? i plan on doing so in the future after i swap in the d35 i just don't wanna shell out the $200 before hand
 
Manual T-case and Auto hubs will work just fine.

I suggest doing the manual hubs eventually tho, the Auto's aren't too reliable.

(and you don't need a 'conversion kit'. All you need are the hubs and the spindle nuts.)
 
i was wondering about that, i could get the stock ones from u-pull for cheap i just didnt know what internal parts needed to go along with them. it would be the spindle nut with the little wedge under it?
 
Just don't shift on the fly with a manual case and auto hubs. You can do it with an electric t-case and a manual t case if you have manual hubs that are locked in, the manual case doesn't have the synchro deal that spins up the front driveshaft before it engages.
 
i don't shift on the fly anyways... to afraid of breakin stuff. even if it is safe, it doesn't bother me to stop and shift into 4WD. i like to stop and check things out before i hit them anyways... isnt that waht your supposed to do?
 
are mile marker hubs alright? i can buy mile marker supreme hubs and the conversion stuff for less than $140 on autozone
 
I'd get Warns. Seen too many of the MM hubs break too easy.

The "conversion kit" is nothing more than just the spindle nuts, but way overpriced.
D44 manual hub spindle nuts are basically the same though, so if you can't find the D35 ones, you could get ones for a '73-'96 F-150 or Bronco instead and they'll work (even some Chevy & Dodge ones work too, they're all pretty generic).

hey thanks, i think i'm gonna pulll some stock ones off from u-pull for a while... i'll buy extras. so can i just take the nuts off of that and use those? the stock manual hub nuts?
 
wasn't there something about using the D35 jeep hubs?
 
its in the tech library. the d35 (rear axle) jeep hubs are built a little heavier than the standard warns. ive beat my standards pretty hard and havnt failed one yet.

i dont think the jeep hubs become necissary until your tire size starts getting up there...
 
yeah i read the tech page before posting. so what about the stock Warn manual hubs? they work alright for 31's and can i just pull the nuts off at u-pull and use them? what about going from d28 to d35 will the hubs be the same?
 
d28 and d35 hubs arent interchangeable. different spline counts.

the stock warn hubs are fine, and yes you can also steal the nuts off of a truck at the junkyard.
 
ok perfect, that is what i needed to know... i was pretty sure about the d28 and d35 being different. i don't wanna buy warn hubs until i get my d35 that way i'm not wasting my money on somethin i'm getting rid of
