If you get one from a later model year such as 98-01' you should be just fine. be sure to get the entire engine compartment wiring and PCM.
95-97's may work, but I cannot tell you that for sure.
It's been argued and disputed which is better. Myself I think the OHV is a better TRUCK engine.
