Is there a trick to removing the drag link from the pitman arm? l am in the process of lifting my truck and this is holding me up.
l know this is more of a steering question, but l thought l would get a quicker response in here
Any thoughts or tricks from anyone?

It is a 94 4.0 4x4

Two BFHs smack both sides of the arm where the taper of the TRE is in. May need a couple of good hits. Should pop right off.

A pickle fork or a TRE puller will work just the same. The fork is hard on the boots and usually damages them.

How did you get a hammer in there and have any force with it? That is my problem everything is so congested, there is no room to swing the hammer

You should have room to the sides for a hammer. Or you can CAREFULLY thread the nut back on most of the way with the castellations down, and drop a long bar down through hood. Hit that with a hammer.

Thanks....

Any ideas for the torx bolts on the front driveshaft? l have broken two different torx wrenches and they havent even broke loose... l have soaked them in bolt buster as well.

What I do is back one side of the pitman arm with a sledgehammer, and then smack the other side hard with a regular hammer to pop it free.

Try some heat on those driveshaft bolts. Ford used Loctite on those during assembly.
