Is there a trick to removing the drag link from the pitman arm? l am in the process of lifting my truck and this is holding me up.

Any thoughts or tricks from anyone?

It is a 94 4.0 4x4

I like to use a small Pitman arm puller to pop out all the steering linkage ballsockets.

Remove the nut and assemble the puller to push against the stud.

You can use a picklefork, but it will very likely damage the grease cup.

Back the pitman arm with a hammer and then hit the other side of the arm with another hammer. It's usually best to not have the pitman arm on the steering box and if you remove it then back it with something and hit it with a hammer. You have to be fairly aggressive with the hammer. It will pop right out and not screw up the plastic cover (grease cup). This method also doesn't stress the ball joint in the drag link.
