help with gear install in a 8.8

I am installing 4.56 gears in a 8.8 from a 91 explorer to put in my ranger. I removed the 3.73s and installed the new pinion and cant get the ring gear to mesh with the pinion when I try to put the carrier back in.

Anyone have any advice? :icon_confused:

you have to change the shims

Are the pinion bearing fully seated?

i would go with no...from what you wrote,did you just change the pinion?or did you get rev rotation gears from a front end or something? youre definately leaving something important out here
