new tach on 2.3

i have the same question about my 94 3.0l, ford seemed to think it wasnt necessary to put one in the cluster for the manual trans, but the cluster i took out that was set up for the automatic had one in it. anyways, i was looking at the schematic for the coil and ignition system in the haynes manual and there are two wires going into my coil and then the radio noise suppressor is grounded to the coil mouting bracket. i was thinking about just running my wire to there and then putting a ring terminal end on it and calling it good until i can start it and see if it works. if not then ill try one of the two wires but at least for now i have my wires run and cut to the right length.

if you're talking about your 95. then the info i give you should be accurate. i put a autometer mini monster on my 2.3l. even if the cluster didnt come with a tach there is a tach signal that is going to it just not being used. remove your instrument cluster. the widest white connecter should have 2 wires at one end of it one wire is tan and yellow the other is black and yellow. the tan and yellow wire is your tach signal, simply splice into that and configure your tach for a 4 cylinders engine as per the tachs instructions. you can use your radio and splice into the 12 volt ignition wire for your power source(dont forget an inline fuse) and the dimmer switch wire to the radio also for your illumination. and then just ground it and viola
