brother just wrecked his dakota. starting to part it out. wondering if the motor is worth keeping for a swap.....

any input would help thank you.
 
I almost did this swap a few years back but went big block instead. It would be an interesting 2wd swap in my opinion. If it is a Magnum, the side engine mounts will be pretty close to lining up with the Ranger's engine crossmember. I think the normal 318LA mounting ears are too far forward. A motor plate would work however.
