like it says, they're coming apart. 88 BII 2.9 manual 5sp. 250k. looks about 1/16" gap. If i push up on the transmission I can see the gap close on the bottom. strange. last winter I replaced the transmission mount. I have on more than one occasion found the engine mount nuts loose. think that might have something to do with this? I am getting clutch chatter and when the truck is out of gear and clutch not pushed in the whole thing shakes like crazy! hot cluch smell once in awhile too. Anyone have ideas on where to get replacements for the bushings on the end of the tranny crossmember? :dunno: where it bolts to the frame? they are sagging bad! Thanks for reading, sorry I threw much in here.

Your nuts are loose. On the inside of the bellhousing there are 4 studs with nuts on them that hold the two together. (On the FM series, which is most likely what you've got.)
