so i couldn't get the bearings to tighten down since i've had the truck so i replaced the rotor/hub assembly and still no dice. I think it's the spindle that's wore out. my question is; Can the stub on the spindle be replaced or do i need a whole new spindle assembly?

did you replace the bearings as well as the rotor? are you sure you have the bearings in properly (the inside one on the inside and outside one on the outside)?

how is it failing to tighten down? is the spindle nut running out of threads or something?

its been a while since ive been under a 2wd, but i dont think the spindle detaches from the knuckle. i think the whole knuckle has to be replaced.

yeah, I ended up finding one at a junk yard he gave it to me for 50 bux and when i measured the rotor he left on it was brand new! score! so i put the new rotor/bearings on the other side. Yea though, it ran out of threads and still had like a 1/2 inch of play.... alot. I'd guess the guy who had it before me lost a wheel bearing and let it go. The new spindle fixed the problem, and the price of everything was about the same as a new rotor.... so i came out ahead on this one.

Yea, me too im super stoked, one less thing to worry about. Now if I could just get it to run right i'd be a happy camper.
