the metal tubing vacuum connections on my 98 hubs are rotting. before i break something, are these replaceable with the hubs still on the truck?

You can replace them on the truck with good vacuum line. The lines run from the actuator solenoid down the subframe and into a vacuum connector at the knuckles.
