I just dissassembled my 2.8 and in the proccess of the rebuild I bent the hell out of the backing plate to the front structure. And idea's on where I could find a replacement?

Put it on a cement floor w/ a piece of thin carpet under it, beat the crap out of it, worked for me. Otherwise you can find them in j- yards

Or ask here, someone may have one - If I have more than one, I'll let you know.
It is more of a spacer than a critical part, so if the threaded holes are good, so is the rest.

I believe its just called front cover backing plate, should be plentiful in junkyards ,around here they only seem to pull the 2.8s out of about half the rigs in the yards.

If by 'broke' you mean two slots where the coolant holes are- one on each side, if I recall - that's the way they are made.

Yeah if thats the "broke" it should fine if you can beat it reasonably flat, its not a +- .005 kind of part.
