I think there very well may be a plate in the floor you can unbolt. You will also need the pedal assembly and I think a computer for it as well.

You will need the following parts:

- Transmission for your engine and drive (2wd)
- starter
- flywheel
- clutch kit (clutch, pressure plate, and slave cylinder)
- pedal assembly
- PCM for a manual transmission 3.0
- floor plate (not necessary, but easier)
- steering column or steering column cover from a manual transmission truck
- manual transmission gear selector block plate (in the cluster)
- shift boot and shifter console
- manual transmission wiring harness

I have done this to 3 RBV in the past year.

I may be off, but there goes your $2500 right there too. So it's probably a toss up.

You are off. The 3 I have done cost less than $900-$1,200. My first swap cost me out of pocket about $550 after I sold parts that I took off my '97. My Bronco II I have a total of $900 in the complete swap.

since you have done it 3 times, is it a pain in the ass or just takes time?

If you can remove a transmission, you can probably do this swap. It helps alot of you have somebody helping you (a few parts of the swap require two people) and even more so if the other person knows what they're doing!

I did the swap this past weekend, and it really wasn't hard at all. The pedals are kind of a pain, but they just take a while is all.

Other than that, you will need a few wiring diagrams.
There is a panel in the floor that you can unbolt, and bolt a manual tranny panel in it's place, which will already have the hole for the shifter, in it.

When I did mine, I put the pedals in one weekend, and then did the tranny and everything else the next Saturday (last weekend). I got it pretty much completed in 1 day. I went to my cousin's house at 9am Saturaday morning, and I left, with the truck driving, at 10pm. There was also a couple hours of just screwing off, in there too. It also helps that he works at a transmission shop, but oh well. And 3.5 hours of that was figuring out wiring. Shouldn't have taken 3.5 hours for wiring, but I was making it more difficult than it needed to be..

If you don't know how to read a wiring diagram, I would figure out how, before doing the swap. You will be reading a few!

Mjones's list is dead on, I can't think of anything else I used.

You will also need new flywheel bolts, and pressure plate bolts. Those can be had from a dealership for around $15.

Just curius as to the reason why you have to use new fly wheel bolts?
I didn't. They are not torque-to-yeild bolts or anything. Just torque them and they're good.

I prefer to use new ones because of their stress environment. It is like head bolts to me, once you remove them, you should replace them.
